A western Sydney man who threatened to kill his terrified ex-partner, pointed knives at her, and choked her on her kitchen floor will be sentenced later this year.

Bayram Boyraz, 35, of Seven Hills, pleaded guilty to a string of offences relating to the violent incident in Marayong in January this year.

According to court documents, the victim arrived home from work at about 7pm on January 3 and was followed shortly afterwards by Boyraz.

He told her he wanted to speak with her, and she invited him in the home where he quickly became agitated.

Court documents say Boyraz took of his shoes and sat on the couch before calling her a “dog” and a “slut”.

He later made threats towards her new partner, saying: “I understand we are not together, but how could you do this to me? If I can’t have you, then no one else can have you. I am willing to kill the other person, his family and you as well”.

She repeatedly told Boyraz he had to leave, but he went to the kitchen and picked up a knife that he pointed at her while standing over her on the couch.

She then went into the kitchen and attempted to call for help out of an open window which led to Boyraz tackling her to the ground. He then strangled her.

Later, Boyraz dragged her by the hair into the hall where he tried to strangle her again before dragging her back to the couch.

He then made her take two Panadol tablets and told her he wanted to “take you for a drive and you’d go in the boot”.

She told him she wouldn’t go anywhere with him, and when he walked out to the front porch she locked him out.

During the ordeal, Boyraz broke a fan and damaged two chairs belonging to the victim.

She suffered bruising to the right side of her face, bruising to her neck, and a bruise to the middle finger of her left hand during the ordeal.

Boyraz was later arrested at a home in Seven Hills, but ran away from police before they could put him in their vehicle.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of contravening an AVO, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, three counts of destroy or damage property, stalk or intimidate with intent to cause fear, and resist or hinder police.

A further six charges were withdrawn by the DPP.

He will be sentenced in Penrith Local Court on November 6.
