Woman, 20, rushed to hospital while undergoing cosmetic surgery in Parramatta
A 20-YEAR-OLD woman is in a stable condition after going into a suspected cardiac arrest while undergoing a cosmetic surgery procedure at Parramatta.

A WOMAN has been rushed to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition after a reaction during cosmetic surgery at a clinic in Parramatta.
The 20-year-old woman went into a suspected cardiac arrest while undergoing the procedure.
It is understood CPR was commenced and a defibrillator used to stabilise the young woman.
Ambulance NSW has confirmed they were called to The Cosmetic Institute clinic in Smith St just after 10am.
A spokeswoman for Westmead Hospital said the woman was in a stable condition at 2.45pm.
The Cosmetic Institute managing director David Segal said he believes the patient had a reaction to anaesthetic.“It can happen with any procedure, there’s always a risk that you can have a reaction to the anaesthetic,” he said.
“We are well equipped to deal with a medical emergency.”

He said all protocols had been followed in dealing with the incident.
Quoting patient condentiality, Mr Segal would not identify the procedure undertaken.
He said the clinic had performed more than 10,000 procedures and was internationally credited.
“We have experienced and credentialled specialists looking after our patients,” he said.
The clinic advertises a number of procedures including breast implants, liposculpture, labiaplasty and eyelid rejuvenation.
Its website states the institute as Australia’s largest and most trusted cosmetic surgery clinic.
