Vergel Velasquez death: Stacey Kelly Greenup charged with murder

A woman is the sixth person to be charged with the death of Vergel Velasquez at his Girraween unit block where he was viciously attacked on December 30.
About 4pm, emergency services were called to a unit block on Mia Mia St following reports a group of men had been involved in a physical fight.
They arrived to find Mr Velasquez, 42, with severe head injuries in the stairwell of the complex.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, where he died from his injuries at 5.20pm the next day.
On Tuesday, police arrested a 35-year-old woman at a Kingsford unit about 1.30pm.
She was taken to Maroubra police station and charged with murder.
The Guildford woman was refused bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.
As part of ongoing inquiries, officers raided units at Granville and homes at Moree this year.
So far during the investigation, five men – aged 39, 41, 42, 49 and 50 – have been charged. They all remain before the courts.
Investigations under Strike Force Brallo are continuing.
