An Alameddine crime clan associate can get back behind the wheel after he successfully appealed against a three-month driving ban by arguing he needed to help his wife deal with a crippling anxiety disorder and physical ailments.
The heavily tattooed 26-year-old was convicted, fined $300 and issued the driving ban by Parramatta Local Court on August 7 after he pleaded guilty to driving while a licence application was refused.
He committed the offence on April 23, when he headed northbound on the Newell Highway at Jerilderie, more than 600km from Sydney.
The court heard he had got behind the wheel to help his wife, Jade Heffer – the widow of former Lone Wolf bikie Yusuf Nazlioglu – because she had suffered a panic attack after they visited her family.
Parramatta District Court on Thursday heard Heffer still relied on her new husband to reach medical appointments for several health problems including gallstones and PTSD, which she suffered after witnessing the shooting death of Nazlioglu.
Jeske splits his time living with his wife in rural NSW and with his mother in Sydney.
The court heard Jeske had a poor driving record, including offences from two years ago.
Judge Sophia Beckett ultimately allowed Jeske’s appeal, quashed his conviction and placed him on a 12-month conditional release order.
The order requires Jeske to be of good behaviour, drive with a valid licence and obey the road rules.
“OK, Mr Jeske, you get your licence back but you have to pay attention because even a speeding offence is going to make you lose your licence,’’ she said.
A smiling Jeske thanked the judge, who said he had been released from jail earlier this year after serving time for drug supply.
He had been jailed for distributing illicit substances for the Alameddines, a court previously heard.
In September 2020, Heffer’s first husband, Nazlioglu, was sensationally acquitted of murdering Comanchero bikie president Mick Hawi at Rockdale in 2018.
Last year, she began dating Ahmad Alameddine – a cousin to some of the most senior suspected members of the Alameddine crime clan.
He was arrested last September, having allegedly evaded police since August 3, when he jumped a fence on Narrelle Cres, Greenacre.
In November 2023, Alameddine was sentenced to three months in jail after he pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, resisting an officer in the execution of their duty and entering enclosed land without a lawful excuse.
Heffer was, meanwhile, arrested after Alameddine jumped the fence.
She has not entered pleas after being charged with a string of offences, including hindering the apprehension of a person who committed a serious offence and hindering or resisting a police officer in the execution of duty.
There is no suggestion she is involved in organised crime.
Heffer soon found love again after Alameddine, marrying Jeske in an Islamic ceremony shortly after his release from jail last summer.
She is due to face court next week.
