Former Bachelor Sam Wood helps celebrate the perfect burger for Father’s Day

BL Burgers are releasing a special burger with a sauce inspired by burnt barbecues for Father’s Day — with the help of former Bachelor contestant Sam Wood.

Former Bachelor and dad Sam Wood has teamed up with Deliveroo and BL Burgers this Father’s Day.

It is a familiar taste to many; the burnt sausage grilled on the barbecue just a little too long by dad.

Now, a Sydney burger joint has taken the somewhat iconic Australian flavour and made it into a sauce, with the help of former Bachelor Sam Wood and food delivery app Deliveroo.

BL Burgers’ homage to dads is called the BL Dad Bod and has a low carb, gluten-free bun with beef, cheese, grilled onions, roasted mushrooms, baby spinach, truffle and chive mayo.

The burger is topped with a Burnt Sausage Sauce made from charred onion puree, beef tallow and BBQ sauce.

Those wanting to try the Father’s Day special will have to be quick — the $18 burger will be available on Saturday and Sunday and can only be ordered through Deliveroo.

The BL Dad Bod burger with burnt sausage sauce has arrived for Father’s Day.

“Being a proud father myself, I can admit I’m not the BBQ pro I’ve always hoped to be,” Wood said.

“When Deliveroo suggested we pay homage to dads and their varying BBQ skills, it was simply an idea I couldn’t turn down.”
