Christmas has come early for the kids at Ronald McDonald House, Westmead with the GWS Giants and Westfield Parramatta teaming up to play Santa.

Players from the Giants AFL and WAFL sides took some time out from training last week to go on a shopping spree throughout Rebel and Toys ‘R’ Us.

The presents were delivered to Ronald McDonald House on Tuesday.

GWS defender Adam Kennedy says he can’t wait to see the reaction of the kids and their families as they open their gifts.

“You get a lot out of that,” Kennedy said.

“Not only seeing their faces, but seeing the family and how much it means to them for us to put a smile on their kids’ face in a bit of a struggling time.

“It makes us feel pretty good about ourselves as well.”

The 25-year-old added that a bit of soul searching helped him decide on what toys to pick out.

“I was just trying to take myself back to when I was five-years-old, up to 13-14 years old. Whatever I would have liked back then, I picked.

“It’s all for the kids and hopefully they have a bit of fun with it.”

The Giants commence their 2018 AFL season on Sunday, March 25 against the Western Bulldogs.
