MORE than 70 future rugby league stars enjoyed a day in the sun at Ollie Webb Oval earlier this month taking part in a school holiday clinic with the Parramatta City Titans.
The Titans were joined by Parramatta Eels players Ben Smith, Kaysa Pritchard and Boyd Russell to share some league skills with the children aged four to 12.
ARL development officer Michael Basan said "the most encouraging part was many of them had already signed up to play our game this coming season".
"It's also impressive to see the participation numbers increase," he said.
"For instance here at the Titans we are seeing three to four new teams each season. Rugby league just keeps growing."
The players finished off the day with a barbecue and a free Titans t-shirt.
Titans secretary Moses Samaha said it was great to see children from both genders participate in what has traditionally been a male sport.
"Last year we had our first girls side and hope to have more teams this year," he said.
