PARRAMATTA Blues Indoor Soccer Club has begun its 21st year in fine form, claiming the inaugural women's FutsalOz's Australian Futsal League Cup over the Australia Day long weekend.
The team competed against Australia's best, along with representatives from New Zealand, in Melbourne.
After completing the rounds undefeated they faced off against inner-west Sydney team the Rovers in the grand final.
A spokeswoman for the team said the final was a thrilling game, with the Blues winning 5-4.
"We are proud to have two players receive additional recognition," the spokeswoman said.
"Fabiana Perfilio got the Most Valuable Player award and Lauren Diduszko was the highest goal scorer for the tournament."
The men's team will now begin their quest to match their female counterparts, preparing for the men's FAFL tournament to be held in Melbourne in April.
