Sydney fans can breathe a sigh of relief with the NSW Swifts to play three home games is a week-long netball feast at the start of the COVID-19 shortened Super Netball season.
With the majority of games to be played in Queensland due to quarantine restrictions in other states, it was feared NSW fans would miss seeing their favourite players live this season.
But a revised draw for the opening six rounds has the Swifts playing three games at Sydney Olympic Park’s Ken Rosewall Arena before heading north to their new base in Queensland.
The Swifts will tackled the Adelaide Thunderbirds, the Giants and West Coast Fever in the exciting but exhausting three-game binge starting on Sunday.
The team will then relocate to Queensland ahead of their grand final rematch with Sunshine Coast Lightening – the first outing of another three-game week of Super Netball
Akle noted the frantic nature of playing three games a week would be a challenge but said everyone was in the same boat.

Coach Briony Akle said every team was in the same boat with the compressed schedule – a far cry from the usual one game a week draw of Super Netball.
“Look, a lot of our players have played at netball world cups and Commonwealth Games, and those who haven’t have come through the ranks playing nationals for their states,” she said.
“All of those competitions have schedules which are even more frantic than this and the best team always rises to the top.
“We can take huge confidence from last year’s premiership success and know we are good enough to win this competition.
“It’s all about being adaptable. Like with the two-goal shot, it’s the team who can roll with the punches best that’ll win.
“I want that to be us again in 2020 but first up we need a good start so it’s all eyes on Adelaide.”
