A teen charged over the death of a young motorbike rider in western Sydney has fronted court days shy of the much-loved man’s funeral.

A Guildford West teen charged over the death of motorbike rider Joe Fraser at Lidcombe has fronted court days before the much-loved man’s funeral.

Guildford West P-plater Shamsia Hussaini was charged after allegedly clipping the four-wheel drive Toyota Prado into the back of the 26-year-old’s trail bike at the intersection of Nyrang St and Parramatta Rd on May 1 about 3pm.

Mr Fraser was allegedly knocked off the bike and rushed to Westmead Hospital but died shortly later, triggering an outpouring of grief from the popular concreter’s family and friends, who lauded him for his gentle and humble nature.

He was on his way to visit his best mate Michael and his baby Joe at Regents Park when the collision occurred.

Mr Fraser was inseparable with his proud father Tim, who raised him as a single parent and wanted to see his son get married and start his own family.

Instead, with the assistance of his only child’s family and friends, he is planning his funeral at St Joachim’s Catholic Church at Lidcombe on Saturday when it is expected to be packed.

Michael’s father Joe Anjoul, who was also close to Mr Fraser, said he was a man of faith who had attended church every Sunday for the past year.

Loved ones have spent the days since his death praying the rosary.

“We’ve been going to his cousin’s on his mother’s side and we’ve been doing prayer nights and (sharing) good memories of Joe,’’ Mr Anjoul said.

Miss Hussaini, 18, was charged with negligent driving occasioning death and attended Burwood Local Court on Thursday.

Her bail was continued and the matter was adjourned to July 7.
