Two men have been charged after police seized $800,000 allegedly stuffed into bags following a tip-off that led to a car stop in Sydney’s west.

Two men — Hui and Long Chen — have been charged after police seized $800,000 cash stuffed into bags at Rosehill before they allegedly uncovered weapons during a raid of a Granville home.
After a tip-off, Criminal Groups Squad’s Strike Force Raptor Highway officers stopped a white Mercedes at the intersection of Arthur and Virginia streets at Rosehill yesterday about 6pm.
Police seized a sports bag and black garage bag containing $800,000 cash, documentation and mobile phones during a search of the car.
The 31-year-old driver, Hui, and 32-year-old passenger Long, were arrested and taken to Granville police station.
Shortly later, detectives raided a unit at William St, Granville, where a money counter, documentation, an electronic stun device and white powder was seized.
A white Toyota HiLux was also searched, and officers seized more documentation.
Items found during the operation will undergo further examination.
Both men were both charged with knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime, while Long was also charged with possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit.
The pair’s matters were mentioned at Parramatta Local Court today, where they were bail refused bail to reappear at the same court on January 28.
The Criminal Groups Squad’s investigations are continuing.
