Parramatta: Drugs found after car ploughs into fence at George St

A drug-affected driver ploughed a car into a fence at Parramatta after he was attempting to drive from the carpark of a boarding house.

A man was taken to hospital for drug testing after he drove a car into a fence at Parramatta.

Cumberland police said the 46-year-old Westmead man ploughed a Peugeot into the wall at 153 George St just before 4am.

It is understood he was attempting to drive from the carpark of a boarding house

when he lost control and crashed into an empty lot of land.

He was assisted out of the car and taken to an ambulance where he was treated for suspected heroin use.

Police said the man’s partner was also in the car, where they found a small quantity of prohibited drugs.

Charges have not been laid.
