Detectives have discovered more than $40,000 worth of stolen Bluey coins at a western Sydney self-storage facility, recovering most of the limited edition currency stolen earlier this year.
NSW Police robbery and serious crime squad detectives swooped on the Wentworthville unit about 3.30pm on Tuesday, seizing several Royal Australian Mint bags that contained $40,061 worth of the stolen $1 Bluey coins.
They also seized several power tools, clothing items and bags, all of which officers believe to be stolen.
The search followed the theft in July of 63,000 unreleased Bluey coins from a warehouse in Wetherill Park.
To date, three people have been charged over their alleged involvements in the heist and remain before the courts.
They include a 27-year-old Green Valley woman who was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly acting as a getaway driver.
