Oatlands man Graham John Mellers might have predicted the toilet paper shortage before the coronavirus pandemic forced shoppers to panic buy the item — he has pleaded guilty to stealing it when he broke into a North Parramatta home in November.

Mellers appeared briefly at Parramatta Local Court on Monday when a guilty plea was entered for stealing property in a public housing home at Barton St on November 9.

Court papers state the 54 year old also stole mesh flyscreen, a DVD, electronic microphone cord about 5.15pm.

The Housing Department owns the dwelling.

The matter was adjourned to August 11 for sentencing.
