Merrylands: Man, 19, charged with alleged home invasion at Woodville Rd
A teenager who was allegedly wielding a knife machete during a Merrylands home invasion was charged after a three-month investigation.
A 19-year-old man who allegedly threatened a Merrylands resident with a machete knife when he answered a knock at his door has been charged.
Police charged him after a three-month investigation into the alleged home invasion and robbery on Tuesday, July 9.
Police said a man answered the door at his home at Woodville Rd at 3am when a man who invaded the property pushed him back.
The man allegedly produced a machete knife and held it to his throat, before three more entered the house.
It is alleged that the man holding the knife demanded money, before another man struck the resident with a pool cue.
The group allegedly stole money, cigarettes, a wrist watch and a phone before leaving the property.
After an investigation, police arrested a Croydon Park man who was taken to Bankstown police station and charged with aggravated enter dwelling whilst armed and robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday October 5.
