McDonald’s Greystanes to open December 2019
Residents have expressed concerns over a new 24-hour McDonald’s opening in western Sydney, ranging from traffic to food scraps attracting vermin.

Another 24-hour McDonald’s will open on the Great Western Highway, just 3km from the fast food restaurant on the same road at Wentworthville.
The Greystanes eatery is to open in mid-December and will include a drive-through, playground and McCafe, and will be next to the 7-Eleven at 601-605 Great Western Highway.
Cumberland Council gave the project the green light after years of residents expressing concerns about trucks delivering goods around the clock.
A group of Greystanes Rd residents, whose villas back on to the site, were consulted about the plans though their strata management.
BK Patel said concerns over food scraps attracting vermin were raised but he hopes the retaining wall between the site and their homes will curb the problem.
However he is concerned about extra traffic from drivers turning from Greystanes Rd on to the Great Western Highway into the McDonald’s.
“There’s a McDonald’s on the other side (at Wentworthville) but at the end of the day it’s the traffic and noise (which is a concern),’’ he said.
“We’re just hoping for better traffic flow but few things are in our control.”
Resident Pravina Patel said the lights from McDonald’s could be a problem.
A McDonald’s spokeswoman said it was working with the developer to address anticipated problems.
“With our developer, we’re working closely with an acoustic consultant to ensure appropriate sound treatment is provided on the site,’’ she said.
She said the store would create 100 jobs.
