Man stabbed repeatedly at western Sydney rail station

A MAN will face court today for an alleged stabbing during an altercation at a western Sydney train station.

A MAN has undergone emergency surgery after he was repeatedly stabbed during a fight at Berala Railway Station last night.

Emergency services found the 35-year-old man with multiple stab wounds at the station around 9.30pm.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital where he has undergone surgery.

A short time later, a 38-year-old man was arrested nearby and taken to Auburn Police Station.

Initial inquiries suggest the men were known to each other and were involved in an altercation before the stabbing occurred.

The 38-year-old was charged with would person with intent to cause grevious bodily harm and will face Burwood Local Court later today.
