Police were called to a home on Clyde St about 7am today after a man had suffered multiple stab wounds to his body.
The man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
Police believe the man was involved in a fight with another man, who left the scene before the arrival of emergency services.
It is not known if the two men were known to each other.
Cumberland police started an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries.
Several items have been seized for forensic examination.
