A western Sydney poo bandit caused a huge stink when he was caught on camera repeatedly defecating on a Parramatta law firm’s steps after they complained about him smoking near their building.
Michael Makdessi, 33, pleaded guilty to offensive behaviour and larceny after he repeatedly defecated on the steps of Astor Legal on George St in Parramatta – then stole one of the security cameras that captured the revolting incident.
The relationship between Makdessi and the law firm went down the toilet when he refused to quit smoking outside their office building, near where he works as a barber.
However, the poo bandit was finally flushed out when he was caught pants-down on the law firm’s other CCTV cameras, which he had missed as he made away with one Arlo Pro camera worth $345.
“About 9.03am on October 13 2019, the accused is captured walking with his pants around his ankles and his bare backside in full view,” police facts stated.
“At about 9.04am the accused is captured walking around with his penis in full view, picking up two white tissues from the floor and placing them together before wiping his backside with the tissue.”
Makdessi was then captured leaving the location fully dressed as he tucked the CCTV camera he knocked off its wall mount into his hoodie pocket.
On October 14 the law firm’s director discovered the faeces and discarded tissues on the office’s security door before it was photographed for police and forensically cleaned.
“Upon arrival police observed a number of tissues on the floor with what appeared to be faeces on them,” police facts stated.
“Police could also smell a strong ‘aroma’ of faeces.”
Makdessi will be sentenced at Parramatta Local Court on March 11 after the matter was adjourned on January 29.
He is banned from entering the law firm but is permitted to visit the Lebanese restaurant, the Thai restaurant and the computer shop on the ground floor of the law firm’s building.
“He identified himself as the person depicted in the CCTV footage before making full and frank admissions to the offences before the court,” police facts stated.
“The accused admitted to defecating on the doorstep of the law firm and stealing the CCTV camera.”
Makdessi lives in the family home and court documents reveal an extensive criminal history including offences for which he is currently serving a jail sentence in the community.
He was convicted of possessing an unauthorised firearm in May 2018 and sentenced to a two-year intensive corrections order which was due to expire on May 22 this year.
He was also convicted of prohibited drug possession in November 2019 and sentenced to a 12-month community corrections order concluding November 7 this year.
He was also jailed for several months in 2011 for engaging police in a pursuit.
