Man arrested after fatal stabbing in Sydney’s west at Berala
Police have arrested a man after a woman was fatally stabbed at a home in Berala today. Police arrived at an address to find a woman suffering multiple stab wounds.

Police have arrested a man after reports a woman was fatally stabbed in Sydney’s west today. Just before 10am this morning officers from the Auburn Police Area Command responded to reports of a stabbing at a home on Harrow Rd, Berala.
The man has not been charged.
Police arrived at the address to find a woman suffering multiple stab wounds. She was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but died at the scene.
Police have established a crime scene and have conveyed a man to Auburn Police Station.
Most neighbours described the street as quiet and trouble free and were unaware of the incident at the double-storey house until police and ambulance crews converged outside the house.
I just heard police sirens and that’s it,” Rayan Alamaddine said. “These days you hear all the stories. (I was) scared.”
Auburn Acting Superintendent Chris Laird told reporters the following:
“We are just trying to establish exactly what happened and the police, from what they were confronted with, as well as the paramedics, have been offered assistance to deal with what they saw.”
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
It is believed the incident is domestic-related.
Roads maintenance worker Matt Banfield was working on Harrow Rd when he heard sirens and saw nine police cars race through the street.
“Heaps of coppers came screaming through and that’s it,” Mr Banfield said. “It must’ve been after school.
“I heard sirens all over the other side but they came screaming through this way.”
