Merrylands man Jabour Lahood has been released from custody after he was arrested for breaching bail conditions following a shooting investigation in the suburb on Monday.

The shots were fired at William St on Monday and as part of inquiries, Cumberland police attended a home just after 7pm on Tuesday and spoke to Mr Lahood in the street before he allegedly ran from the scene.

Police allege he returned a short time later when police arrested the 23-year-old, who was taken to Granville police station where he was charged with breaching bail conditions.

Court documents show Mr Lahood was charged with drug charges and driving while disqualified at Potts Point on May 15 when he allegedly possessed and supplied 4.39g of cocaine.

He has not been charged in relation to the shooting on Monday.

At Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, he was released on bail and is due to appear for a hearing at Downing Centre Court on December 9.

“You do need to be careful and stick to it or you’ll sit in custody to the 9th of December,’’ Magistrate Jennifer Giles said of his bail conditions.

Investigations are continuing into the public place shooting.

Anyone who may have information or dashcam footage from the area should contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
