Guy and Jules Sebastian bring carols to Parramatta
Guy and Jules Sebastian are bringing their annual carols to Parramatta this weekend.
Guy and Jules Sebastian, along with a bunch of their talented friends, will put on a carols night in Parramatta this weekend.
Hosted by the Sebastians, Carols in the Crescent in Parramatta Park on Saturday night will include performances by 2011 The X Factor Australia winner Reece Mastin and children’s entertainer Sam Moran along with Johnny Ruffo, Karise Eden, brother Chris Sebastian, Chynna Taylor and Mark Vincent.
The event runs from 6.30-8.30pm and will include an appearance from Santa and the Grinch, along with children’s rides and food stalls.
The carols, which replace Parramatta Council’s Christmas in Centenary Square, has been organised by the Sebastians’ charity The Sebastian Foundation in conjunction with the council and Parramatta Park Trust, and forms part of The Crescent Summer Series.
It marks the sixth annual carols run by The Sebastian Foundation but the first one in Parramatta.
The Sebastians founded the charity in 2013 and its work has included programs to support domestic violence victims as well as renovating or improving shelters.
The carols are free but visitors are encouraged to donate to the foundation.
“Jules and I are thrilled to partner with our friends to bring our foundation’s annual Carols concert to Parramatta, and for the first time, host it as a free event for the community to enjoy,” Sebastian said.
“We’ll be asking for donations in lieu of ticket sales, which will go towards helping The Sebastian Foundation deliver a project in the local area for women and families escaping domestic violence.”
Sebastian, who released his latest single Before I Go last month, said Parramatta residents had “real hearts” and the area reminded him of his hometown of Adelaide.
“I feel like Parramatta is very similar in a cultural level to how me and Jules grew up,” he said.
Parramatta Lord Mayor Andrew Wilson said people could bring a picnic rug and join in the fun.
“I’m thrilled that some of the finest voices in this country will be performing at the Crescent, Parramatta Park’s natural amphitheatre,” he said.
