Brothel given green light to operate around the clock at Guildford
A Guildford brothel will turn into a 24-hour business after a panel approved a trial despite it being in a zone not appropriate for sex services.
A Guildford brothel will turn into a 24-hour business after a panel approved a trial despite it being in a zone not appropriate for sex services.
Club10 at 10 Guernsey Rd is in a “light industrial” zone but the application was originally approved under Holroyd Council’s plan before it amalgamated with Auburn and Cumberland Council was formed.
The brothel has been operating from 9am to 11pm.
Surrounding properties were notified between February 12 to 26 with no opposition to the plans.
This month, Cumberland Local Planning Panel unanimously approved a trial for 24 hour sex services.
In a report Urbanesque Planning’s Eugene Sarich submitted to the council, he said the premises was suitable for non-stop trading.
“The premises are suitably located in a light industrial zone which mitigates any impacts upon residential use,’’ Mr Sarich said.
“This report has demonstrated that the proposed changes are supportable and will not cause any unreasonable adverse impact on the neighbouring properties, the natural environment or the character of the area.”

Panel chairman Stuart McDonald said the 24-hour trial period would provide the opportunity for the council and the community to assess its acceptability.
“It is anticipated that the trial period is unlikely to have any unacceptable input given the location within an established industrial area,” he said.
