Policeman, 22, charged with non-consensual sexual intercourse, touching

A policeman, 22, from the South West Metropolitan Region has been charged with sexually assaulting two women last year.

A 22-year-old probationary constable was arrested at Granville police station and charged with sexual assault offences after two alleged incidents last year.

The South West Metropolitan Region officer was charged with sexual offences following an investigation by Professional Standards Command.

In December 2018, an investigation started after a complaint was received about the alleged sexual touching of a woman.

After inquiries, a further allegation of sexual assault in July 2018 was also investigated.

Yesterday, the policeman was arrested at Granville police station.

He was charged with sexual intercourse without consent and sexual touching.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday, September 19.
