The Cumberland Council project features a new rugby field, multi-purpose rooms, a grandstand, kiosk and carpark.

The project, which received a $2.74 million State Government grant, will go towards the field’s reconstruction, lighting, stormwater drainage, irrigation and returfing, and wrap up by May 2021.

Cumberland Mayor Steve Christou said the step was an exciting one for a project at the heart of community sports.

“This sportsground is a place for community and sports enthusiasts to bring activity

and their passion for sports to life,’’ he said.

“We look forward to welcoming Two Blues Rugby Union Club back to a revitalised

home ground.”
