Geoffrey Vance Landrey charged with property and mortgage fraud
A Queenslander facing multiple property fraud charges allegedly created fraudulent documents to deceive a liquidator over ownership of a $2.2 million property.

Queensland man Geoffrey Vance Landrey has been charged over an alleged $2.76 million worth of property and mortgage fraud.
Financial Crimes Squad detectives charged the 74-year-old, from the Cairns town of Edmonton, for dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception and 19 counts of using a false document to obtain property in July after extensive inquiries.
Police allege the man created fraudulent mortgage documents to deceive a liquidator to retain ownership of a $2.2 million property.
Landrey also allegedly produced forged mortgages and legal documents to defraud a government agency of $200,000.
The alleged offenes occurred in Sydney, Newcastle and Melbourne between 2012 and 2015.
It will be further alleged he was involved in fraudulent offences worth $360,000 in October 2015.
At Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, the matter was adjourned to December 17.
This year, the State Crime Command’s Financial Crimes Squad established Strike Force Colloden to investigate reports of property and mortgage fraud across the state.
Investigations under the strike force are continuing.
