The international doughnut company has gone one step further in its newest western Sydney venture.
While you won’t get to see the glazed doughnuts created at its newest Australian store, it’s got something else that sets it apart.
Located in Westfield Parramatta, Krispy Kreme’s box concept store is the world’s second store to be in the shape of its doughnut box.
To celebrate the stores opening, 5000 original glazed doughnuts will be given away on Thursday (February 15) from 8am.
To sweeten the deal, the first three people in line will be rewarded with monthly supplies of doughnuts. The first person in line gets a year’s supply, second person gets six months and the lucky third person will enjoy a sweet three-month supply.
The store is located on level one and doughnuts will come direct from its Liverpool store where the production team can make 46 dozen glazed doughnuts in 15 minutes.
That’s more than 2000 decadent treats an hour using the same recipe since the 1930s.
Glazed doughnuts make up about 60 per cent of a Krispy Kreme store’s sales.
THE MAKING OF ...
● The doughnut starts to take shape in the proofer
● It takes 40 minutes to rise and resemble a doughnut
● It then goes in the fryer and is flipped
● It heads along the conveyor belt to the glaze fountain
● It’s here where a liquidy white good finishes off the simple treat
● It travels through the cooling tunnel before quality control hand-pick the perfect doughnuts
● The entire process takes six hours to mix, shape, bake and glaze
