Doyle Ground, North Parramatta: Man allegedly flashed, sexually touched women and intimidated girl

A 50-year-old man who allegedly flashed one woman, sexually touched another and followed a child into the bathroom at a popular western Sydney sportsground has faced court.

A man who allegedly sexually touched a woman, flashed another and intimidated a girl at a popular western Sydney sportsground was refused bail because he lives too close to a primary school.

Warren Casey, 50, had been spending the morning at Doyle Ground, on Buller St in North Parramatta, just before 8am on September 30 when police allege he exposed himself to a woman.

Police allege he then followed a 10-year-old girl into a bathroom where he intimidated her.

The man was reported to police and officers from Parramatta Police Area Command began investigating.

Police will allege the man had also allegedly sexually touched a different woman at the sportsground on the same morning.

Investigations led to the arrest of the Mr Casey at Cumberland Hospital on Friday about 4.30pm, and he was taken to Parramatta police station.

He was charged with 10 offences, including two counts of carry out a sexual act with another without consent, wilful and obscene exposure near a public place, two counts of behave in an offensive manner near a public place, two counts of stalk/intimidate with intent to cause fear or physical harm, peep or pry, sexually touch another person without consent and destroy or damage property.

He appeared briefly at Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday where he was formally refused bail.

At Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday, Mr Casey’s legal aid solicitor Vaughan Roles applied for bail for his client, who was ordered to undertake a mental health assessment within 24 hours if he was released.

However, the prosecution refused bail, citing that he lived 140m from Rydalmere Public School.

“I don’t think it’s in the best interest for him to reside opposite the primary school,’’ prosecutor Craig Pullen said.

Magistrate David Price refused bail and adjourned the matter to Friday and if alternate accommodation can be found away from a school, another bail application will be lodged.
