A 27-year-old man was slapped with a $1000 fine when he returned to Auburn Central Plaza after police explained the restrictions.

At Auburn about 8.40am, police found four men congregating in a small room – and another man hiding behind the door – of a Sheffield St home.
A 39-year-old man was the only one of the group of relatives who lives at the address.

The offenders were fined under then Public Health Act 2010 and part of 45 penalty infringement notices police issued across NSW on April 18.
