Gymgoers who attended the Fitness First gym at Carlingford have been urged to get tested and isolate immediately after one of three new positive coronavirus cases visited the site in Sydney.
NSW Health warned people who attended the gym’s pilates class on Saturday, October 3 from 8.15am to 9.15am are considered close contacts and should isolate for 14 days even if a negative result is received.
NSW Health has directly contacted patrons who at the gym and is assessing potential exposure to COVID-19 of people, who are considered casual contacts, and who attended several other venues:
● Kmart, Narellan Town Centre, Narellan, Friday October 2, 6pm to 7pm
● Penrith Homemaker Centre, Penrith, Sunday October 4, 11am to 1pm
● Guzman y Gomez, Penrith, Sunday October 4, 1.30pm to 2pm
● Home Co, Penrith, Sunday October 4, 2pm to 2.30pm
● Westfield Parramatta, Monday October 5, 9.30am to 11am
● Castle Towers Shopping Centre, Castle Hill, Monday October 5, noon to 1pm
NSW Health advises everyone who attended the venues to get tested even if they develop the slightest COVID-19 symptoms.
NSW Health has recorded a “concerning’’ drop in testing numbers and renewed its call for testing even for the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat, cough or fever.
“This is especially important for people across west and southwest Sydney with these new cases and after the state’s sewage surveillance program detected fragments of the virus at the North Richmond and West Camden treatment plants,’’ a spokesman said.
