A USG Boral spokeswoman said 15 workers were evacuated while crews including Parramatta, Rydalmere, Silverwater, Merrylands and Huntingwood contained the blaze.
Investigators are still determining the cause of the inferno that started in 50m x 70m shed where corncies are proudced at USG Boral’s bulk distribution centre at Thackeray St.
A USG Boral spokeswoman said the fire was contained to the plant that manufactured cornices.
“The rest of the site is unaffected,’’ she said.
“There has been no impact on the other plasterboard production facilities or to customer dispatch.
“All 15 staff on site at the time were evacuated and thankfully, there were no injuries.
“USG Boral is working closely with police and other authorities as they investigate the cause of the fire”
The fire was under control by 12.20pm.
Boral manufactures and supplies building and construction materials.
The Camellia centre employs 100 people.
