After putting out a call for nominations for Parramatta’s best hairdresser of 2020 and counting the votes the winner can be revealed as Casey Hopkinson from Bodhi Boutique.
Parramatta Advertiser readers had from Thursday to Sunday to vote for the best hairdresser in the community, when a legion of fans showed their support for the hairdresser of 15 years.
It’s not the first time loyalty has had fringe benefits for Miss Hopkinson, who previously worked at Hairiffic at Parramatta Westfield and Ilka Andre & Co, also in Parramatta.
Through tough times, the Parramatta resident’s customers delivered groceries to her home and followed her when she opened her salon at Charles St in September.
Despite the tough year that has plagued many in the industry, being voted Parramatta’s top hairdresser has been a welcome boost for Miss Hopkinson.
“I was a little hesitant just because I don’t like doing all the book work but my business partner looks after all that side and he pushed me to do it,’’ she said.
“It’s worked out well and I couldn’t think of a better way to turn negative year into a positive.’’
Along with business partner Russell McPhee and hairdresser Stella Priest, Bodhi Boutique keeps customers well tressed, particularly with their flair for balayage and colour treatments.
The area is not short of top hairdressers.
Leanne Spiteri and Arzoo Rahi from Hair Crew & Co, Parramatta, and Denise Chiha and Dianne Rizk from Indulged by Beauty, Parramatta, tied in second spot in the poll.
