Staff at Concord Hospital have paid tribute to a young nurse who was killed in a horror crash involving a bus on Wednesday.
Bomie (Bom) Lee was on her way to an early shift at the hospital when she was involved the collision in West Ryde around 6.30am.
She died at the scene.
She has been remembered by work colleagues as bright, hard working and fun.
Concord Hospital’s general manager Dr Genevieve Wallace said: “The Concord Hospital community has lost a bright and talented nursing colleague in Bom Lee.
“Bom joined Concord Hospital in March last year as a graduate nurse in the renal department, having previously enjoyed placements with us as a student.
“She showed a keen interest in dialysis and expressed a love for the job, eventually becoming a permanent member of the department after completing her graduate year.
“Bom’s colleagues describe her as an incredibly talented, skilled and hardworking nurse, who continually went out of her way to lend a hand when it was needed – and always with a smile on her face.
“She also formed a close connection with her patients, who found her to be lots of fun and gentle in her approach.
“Bom will be dearly missed by her colleagues and friends at Concord Hospital and we send our love and thoughts to her family at this very difficult time.”
Her brother Leo remembered his sister as a beautiful person who put others first.
“My little sister was a nurse going to work for her morning shift,” he said in a Facebook post.
“If anyone can recognise the blue sedan or hatchback please please let the police know,” he said.
Police have released CCTV in a bid to identify a car seen driving alongside the 25-year-old moments before the crash.
Ryde MP Victor Dominello sent his condolences to Bomie's brother Leo.
“As you wake up this morning, spare a thought for Leo,” Mr Dominello said on Facebook.
“Leo and his sister Bomie (aged 25), are Ryde locals. They immigrated from South Korea together, only recently becoming Australian citizens.
“Bomie is Leo’s only sibling. He said she was a beautiful person who loved looking after others.”

Police have released shocking CCTV footage of a fatal crash in West Ryde in an effort to identify the driver of a third vehicle.
Emergency services were called to Victoria Rd in West Ryde about 6.30am on Wednesday (June 30) following a collision between an SUV and a bus.
The SUV driver, a 25-year-old woman, sadly died at the scene.
The bus driver, a 57-year-old man, was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. He also underwent mandatory testing.
There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.
The Crash Investigation Unit is investigating the crash and has appealed for help from the public.
Investigators would like to speak with the driver of the car captured in CCTV – described as a blue sedan or hatchback – as they may be able to assist with inquiries.
Anyone with information or who sees the car is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The CCTV was captured about 6.20am on Wednesday outside Speedway service station on Victoria Rd.
Molly Riseborough, who works at Reece, just metres away from where the crash occurred said her colleague had heard a “loud bang.”
“He came outside and saw that the bus and car had a collision and saw a lady on the ground and the servo man was giving her CPR,” she said.
Ms Riseborough said she arrived about 10 minutes after the crash where she saw plenty of police cars and ambulances.
It was only when she got her morning coffee at the servo that she saw the extent of the damage.
“It was pretty full-on. The sight was horrific,” she said.
“There wasn’t anything normal about the car – it was all crushed.”
She said glass was scattered across the road.
On Thursday afternoon white flowers were attached to a nearby pole.
Investigators are now piecing together the incident based on CCTV from nearby petrol stations and shops on Victoria Road.
