Two more residents at Dorothy Henderson Lodge have tested positive to coronavirus.
The additional two cases brings the total coronavirus cases to 21, with 16 residents and 5 staff.
The Macquarie Park aged care facility remains in isolation, according to a NSW Health statement.
It comes after a 91-year-old female resident died at the weekend after contracting the virus.
In an earlier statement BaptistCare who runs Dorothy Henderson Lodge said they were saddened by the resident’s death.
“Words fail to express the deep sense of sadness and grief we are all feeling at this time” said BaptistCare CEO, Ross Low.
“I have spoken with the family to express my condolences. My heart and thoughts are with them all, along with the friends and staff who loved and cared for our resident,” he said.
“Over the past several weeks, teams of people have been working tirelessly to protect the health of our residents. To lose another person in our care is a painful loss for us all.”
On March 20, NSW Health tested all 67 residents at Dorothy Henderson Lodge for COVID-19 where four residents tested positive to the virus.
The recently deceased 91 year old female resident was one of the four residents who was tested without symptoms, according to a BaptistCare statement.
“The resident later developed symptoms and was hospitalised on 25 March. All other residents at Dorothy Henderson Lodge tested negative to COVID-19.”
