A primary school in Sydney’s north is set for an $8 million revamp including new classrooms and more playground space.
Plans lodged at St Michael’s Catholic Primary School include the addition of a second storey to Block B and an extension to Block C which will cater for new refurbished classrooms and common learning areas.
A two-storey classroom building on the far west of the Meadowbank School’s site including its demountables and current playing court is also marked for demolition.
Instead the block of land that runs across the corner of Station Street and Maxim Street will be transformed into a new playground featuring two sports courts with a shade structure.
The proposal lodged by Sydney Catholic Schools also includes an internal fit out of the current library to convert to staff facilities and a small courtyard.
Public submissions close on December 1.
