The scenic surrounds of Ryde Parramatta Golf Club played host to the first event of U.S. Kids Golf’s winter tour on Monday.
Twenty-three young local golfers gathered to compete on the state-of-the-art course as they try to qualify for international events such as the World Championships and British Kids Championship.
U.S. Kids Golf events co-ordinator Toyah Elder said it was a great day for the competitors and their parents alike.
“Although qualifying for International events is a fantastic achievement, the main focus of US Kids Golf is creating life long memories for parents and kids through the game of golf.
“This is achieved through the encouragement of parents caddying for their children, creating positive interactions between families while learning and developing their golf skills and having fun.
“US Kids golf local events attract children from all over Sydney, allowing them to play on a wide range of different courses and meet other kids and families through the game of golf.”
The second event of the season will be held at the Bayview Golf Course in Mona Vale.
