A bond between brothers and a love of music has fostered a strong partnership of creating songs with a message.

S3 Saba Brothers, made up of West Ryde brothers Raymond, Steve and Nathan Saba, have performed in their local area for years and have now taken the next step of releasing an EP.

Aged 19, 17, and 13 respectively, the brothers started their band in 2010 after being inspired by the television talent show The X-Factor.

“We started as self-taught off YouTube … and as it got more and more serious we got private tuition,” Raymond said.

Their pop-rock sound has been influenced by a range of musicians from all genres, and they perform regularly at Restaurant 317 at Parramatta, where their gigs feature a mix of originals and covers.

Being brothers means finding time to rehearse has been relatively easy — even more so since their proud parents built them a soundproof studio out the back of their recently renovated house.

“We’re lucky that as brothers we’ve shared the same passion … and mum and dad have been supporting us since day one,” Steve said.

They recently released their EP Life, with the official launch to be held at North Ryde RSL on June 30.

Life features five tracks filled with important messages from self-respect to resilience and a focus on anti-bullying.

Following its release, the Saba brothers hope to promote Life in schools with the aim of sharing their anti-bullying message to their peers.
