Gladesville Bridge Marina is flunking the planning test, Drummoyne state Liberal MP John Sidoti says.
He said plans to double the size of the marina from 50 to 114 vessels were failing.
“On all the town planning grounds, it’s going nowhere,’’ Mr Sidoti said.
“If they had any brains they should just withdraw their application.”
The marina’s manager Matthew Hundleby has not submitted a development application to Canada Bay Council for the Drummoyne marina.
The RMS must assess plans and would have to proceed to the State Planning Panel for final approval.
If given the green light, the marina would accommodate a total of 129 vessels.
Mr Hundleby has in the past said Sydney marinas need to match those overseas, which had higher standards.
“We’ve been consulting with the community and we’ve recently sent a newsletter to the community to know where we’re up to,’’ he said.
But Mr Sidoti questioned why the project should proceed when an application to open a cafe at the marina was rejected more than a year ago.
“You reckon if they won’t allow table and chairs for the people they’re going to double the size?” he said.
Mr Hundleby would not comment on the comparison, saying “it’s more complicated than that”.
