A Tennyson Point man who joined two others, including a teenage girl, allegedly assault a man and an off-duty police officer in Drummoyne, has been granted conditional bail after appearing in Burwood Local Court for the first time today.

Kevin Kilmore, 44, pleaded not guilty to charges of common assault, assault police officer in execution of duty and affray after he was arrested on Thursday.

Kilmore is the third person charged over the alleged assault of a man and an off-duty police officer on a bus at Hunters Hill on the weekend.

On Saturday, police allege Kilmore, a 40-year-old man and a 13-year-old girl, boarded the M52 bus on Victoria Rd near Lyons Rd, Drummoyne about 3.15pm when Kilmore allegedly assaulted a 67-year-old male passenger.

When the bus stopped, the driver and an off-duty senior constable asked Kilmore to leave.

He allegedly refused and started to physically assault the off-duty officer before the other 40-year-old man and the teenager joined in, kicking and punching him before fleeing on foot.

PolAir, the dog unit and Ryde police established a perimeter to locate the alleged offenders before they were arrested.

The 40-year-old man and the teeanger were both charged and remain before the courts.

The alleged assault resulted in the off-duty police officer sustaining bleeding to the face, a broken nose and a foot laceration.

The officer was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the passenger was assessed but did not require further treatment.

The court was today told that Kilmore had assaulted another officer in 2002.

Magistrate Robyn Denes said there was a strong prosecution case against Kilmore but given his limited history and most recent offence being from 2002, the risk he presented to the public could be mitigated by appropriate bail conditions.

The conditions stated that Kilmore be of good behaviour, reside at an Annandale address belonging to his sister, and not to be with, or in contact with, the co-accused.

Security camera footage will be reviewed as Kilmore is due to reappear in Burwood Local Court on December 19.
