Motorists will no longer have to worry about copping a parking fine in a 30-minute zone after a Sydney council said they will be temporarily relaxing parking enforcement during the coronavirus pandemic.

Ryde Council has announced there will be no parking enforcement in time-limited green parking zones in the area.

“Given that many residents are currently working-from-home or adhering to advice from authorities to stay at home where possible, no parking enforcement will be undertaken by Council in time-limited parking zones that are signposted as green regulatory zones,” according to a Ryde Council statement.

“Council rangers will continue to take action where vehicles are parked over driveways or where they pose a public safety risk.”

Yet parking in red regulatory zones such as No Stopping, No Standing and Loading Zones will still be enforced in the area.
