Ryde Council has announced that Harmony Day which was to take place on March 21 and West Ryde Easter Parade and Fair scheduled for April 4 have been cancelled.
The upcoming Citizenship Ceremony to be held on April 9 has also been canned.
It comes after prime minister Scott Morrison announced events with 500 or more expected attendees were discouraged from Monday March 16.
Council said it would not rule out cancelling and postponing other community events.
In a statement, Ryde Council said: “The decision to hold smaller events will be assessed on a case-by-case basis following the completion of risk assessments.
“Registered attendees will be notified if there are any changes to upcoming events.
“Council will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as soon as they become available.”
Meanwhile, the Hunters Hill Food and Wine Festival has also been cancelled.
The festival’s committee made the announcement on Sunday on social media and said the event will not be postponed later this year.
