Man’s body pulled from Parramatta River at Hunters Hill
A MAN’S body has been pulled from the water at Hunters Hill. The man was travelling in a dinghy on the Parramatta River when a strong wind came and blew him into the water.

THE body of a man has been pulled from the water in Sydney’s north.
The man aged in his 70s was travelling with his friend on the Parramatta River in Hunters Hill, believed to be on their way out to board a sailing ship they have been restoring for years.
The men were in separate dinghies, when a strong wind came and blew one of them into the water about 1pm, according to a witness.
The man’s friend sailed back and alerted a resident.
“I got a knock on the door from a gentleman who said a man had fallen from his boat,” local David McDonald said.
Police were called and after a search officers pulled the body of a man from the water near Ferry St. He had been in the water for 30 minutes.
“Water police searched the shore line and located the man 50m up the river bank under a wharf,” Insp Pearson said.

Paramedics attempted to revive the man, but he died at the scene.
Insp Pearson said the man was wearing a lifejacket at at the time but it’s believed heavy boots and a backpack may have weighed him down.
Police were unable to release further details of the victim until his family had been informed.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Insp Pearson said conditions on the water were choppy.
“We encourage all boat users to use extra caution,” he said.
