Drink driving, shoplifting and a cannabis caution in Ryde and Epping
A woman has punched, kicked and spat at police after being arrested at Top Ryde. She was just one in a number of incidents from the area this week.

Carlingford
A man’s alleged erratic driving tipped police off to his drunkenness on Pennant Hills Rd in Carlingford. The 35-year-old Baulkham Hills man was driving on Pennant Hills Rd about 1.20am on Friday when he made a turn across four lanes of traffic. Police tried to stop the man but he continued through a red arrow onto the M2 motorway before he pulled over. He was found to have a 0.149 blood alcohol reading. The man’s licence was suspended and he is due to appear at Burwood Court on Monday, March 4.
Ryde
A woman allegedly became violent after being arrested for stealing from Top Ryde. The 36-year-old Glenfield woman was stopped after stealing pills from a pharmacy about 4.45pm on Thursday. Police were forced to intervene when the woman, who was walking on Blaxland Rd near Tucker St began putting pills in her mouth. She was arrested and taken to Burwood police station, where she allegedly lashed out at police while still in the back of the caged police car. She was charged with stealing and three counts of assault. She was refused bail.
Marsfield
A 61-year-old Rydalmere woman returned a positive alcohol reading on Epping Rd. The woman was stopped at a random breath test site in Marsfield at 10.50pm on Saturday when she returned a reading of 0.072. She was issued a court attendance notice for low range drink driving and is due to appear at Burwood Court.
Meadowbank
Three teens have been cautioned after police found cannabis in a bumbag. The teens where seen on a picnic bench at Meadowbank Park about 10.30pm on Friday. When police approached the trio, one of the teens, an 18-year-old, allegedly tried to hide his bumbag behind his legs. Police searched the bag and found a small amount of cannabis. He was issued with a cannabis caution.
Carlingford
A yellow Honda 125cc motorbike was stolen from a block of units on Jenkins Rd. The $3000 bike was taken between Saturday, December 15, and Sunday, January 20. Another property in Carlingford was also burgled – thieves stole items with sentimental value from a storage cage on Pennant Hills Rd between Friday, January 18 and Sunday, January 20. Two plastic tubs holding items including a laptop, photographs and trophies were stolen and worth about $300. In another case a property on Adderton Rd was broken into between the night of Thursday, January 17, and Saturday, January 19, morning. The home had multiple items stolen including a camera, coffee machine, suitcase and passport.
