Work has begun this week on the construction of a new $2.2 million preschool centre at North Rocks Park, Carlingford.
Construction officially commenced on Monday and is expected to be completed by April next year.
The new centre will include two classrooms, a library, craft room, gardening activity area and a rainforest and fairy garden, as well as car park spaces and pick-up and drop-off amenities.
“City of Parramatta Council is committed to delivering quality facilities for our residents and this new preschool will offer a vibrant new space for children to play and learn,” said Administrator Amanda Chadwick.
The project is being delivered by City of Parramatta Council after it was initiated by The Hills Shire Council in May last year prior to council amalgamations.
“We have worked closely with The Hills Shire Council to build a facility that will provide the best possible outcome for North Rocks and Carlingford residents,” Ms Chadwick said.
Funding for the project stems from the sale of an existing preschool facility at 11 New North Rocks Rd.
Operations will continue at the existing centre until the new preschool opens in May.
