SEA Eagles winger Jorge Taufua wants to play the remaining three games of the season before he has surgery to remove a plate and screws from his collarbone.
He broke his collarbone in April and after six weeks out made his comeback and then the injury became infected.
The gutsy back has delayed the operation and kept backing up for Manly despite suffering an infection in his collarbone.
“The surgeon wanted me to pull the pin a few weeks ago but I just wanted to keep playing for the club and for the boys,” Taufua said.
“When we finish playing it is when it’s at it’s worst and the next couple of days it is hard to raise and do stuff but we’ve been working well with the rehab staff.
“The original fracture is healing well despite the infection.”
Taufua was last night named in the Sea Eagles side to play the Storm at Brookvale Oval on Saturday evening with a 5.30p kick-off.
