Hundreds of meters of prime Sydney waterfront real estate could be set to be transformed into what developers are calling the “Woolloomooloo Wharf” of the north.

Boasting more than 300m of waterfrontage, the proposed Putney Wharf Residences could be one of the largest developments in northern Sydney, with hopes its Woolloomooloo-esque feel can reel in “high net worth locals” and professional families seeking luxury living.

With an estimated price tag of $125m, the precinct will comprise luxury two, three and four-bedroom apartments, as well as townhouses and a penthouse.

At 20 Waterview St, the properties could set you back between $2m and $4m. Homeowners would have access to waterfront views, dining, entertainment and a retail precinct as well as a marina with 36 berths.

However, those just looking for a place to park their boat will also be able to purchase a spot without buying a property.

Headed up by Abadeen Group and PERIFA, its bold vision could lead up to 300 jobs created.

Abadeen’s executive chairman Justin Brown said while high profile visitors or celebrities were unlikely to visit Putney Wharf Residences as they did at Woolloomooloo Wharf, the precinct would deliver an “extraordinary lifestyle”.

“Putney Wharf Residences presents an extraordinary opportunity to transform this rare waterfront site into a dynamic mixed-use wharf precinct providing luxury residential that is akin to Woolloomooloo Wharf,” he said.

“We feel obligated to restore, preserve and celebrate the site’s history and to deliver a state-of-the-art mixed-use wharf precinct.

“Sydney’s boating community will be proud of and want to live, dine and socialise here.”

The development application is awaiting approval from Ryde Council.
