A glamorous teenage receptionist has described her drunken antics at Festival X in November as “the worst thing ever” after having to come clean to her family when her arrest was broadcast on national television.
Tamara Ognenovski, 19, found herself caught up in the mayhem of the popular Sydney musical festival at the start of the summer, though got so trashed beforehand she didn’t even make it past the entry gates.
Her boozy state, and actions toward police, saw her charged after Ognenovski attempted to get back into the festival.
The Cammeray teen was one of four people appearing in Burwood Local Court yesterday charged in relation to events that transpired at Festival X.
The other trio were charged after being caught with MDMA by sniffer dogs.
Ognenovski told the court her six hours in the cells at the Burwood cop shop were a sobering experience, describing having to tell her “strict” family what happened as “the worst thing ever”.
Her social media is littered with glamorous shots around the CBD and northern suburbs, captioning one image saying that she was “keeping it ratchet”.
“We had pre-drinks and we started quite early,” the 19-year-old told the court.
“I drank way too much alcohol and then I refused the officer’s request to take 30 minutes and calm down.
“I haven’t drunk alcohol since, my binge drinking has got out of control.”
Magistrate Louise McManus said she was “sorry it was broadcast on television” and sentenced the teenager to a six month conditional release order with no conviction recorded.
