ST IVES' Hassell Park will be turned pink when St Ives junior club cricketers take part in tomorrow's Pink Stumps Day.

The St Ives under-11 Katich team are one of eight of the club's teams taking part in the McGrath Found-ation fundraiser.

Players will wear pink hats and pads and play with pink stumps and balls.

Supporters can enjoy a picnic of pink cupcakes and marshmallows.

St Ives junior club's Rachel Scholefield said the children had already raised more than $3500.

"It's nice for the kids to show initiative to raise money," she said.

"It's a great cause. We are hoping for a sea of pink tomorrow and I think our club has done really well to get eight teams onboard."

The McGrath Foundation was co-founded by former Test cricketer Glenn McGrath and it raises money to place breast care nurses in communities.
