PYMBLE'S Genevieve Horton is set to become the youngest rower to represent Australia.
Horton, 18, is training with Australia's women's VIII finalists at last year's London Olympics for a World Cup event at Penrith.
"It's an amazing opportunity to row with such a world class crew," Horton said.
"I think it's a massive step up for me. This time last year I was only rowing for school and now I'm doing this."
Horton recently began a course in event management at UTS Kuring-gai and has admitted it may be a struggle to balance her studies with her sport training often consists of two to three sessions a day as well as competition.
The teenager's journey from the bottom team at Pymble Ladies College in three years is testament to her ability.
Her next goal is to qualify for the under-19 world championships in Lithuania in August with her partner from Mosman Rowing Club but she admits the Rio Olympics in 2016 is in her sights.
"I think it's in the mind of every rower," she said.
"It's the dream and getting selected to a team like this makes all the training that we do worthwhile."
