THE first grade one-day final will be an all-north shore affair after North Sydney and Northern District qualified for the decider.
Northern District's semi-final against UNSW at Mark Taylor Oval, Waitara, was washed out on Sunday but the Rangers advanced to Sunday's final after finishing in a higher ladder position than the students.
Norths recovered from a disastrous start against Parramatta at North Sydney Oval to down the visitors 9-232 to 174.
The match was delayed for an hour as ground staff mopped up the ground after a heavy downpour on Saturday.
Parramatta won the toss and sent the home side in to bat on a green wicket offering plenty of assistance to the bowlers.
The visitors capitalised and had Norths in deep trouble at 6-62 before a fighting seventh-wicket partnership of 48 between opener Daniel Hughes and Scott Rodgie.
Hughes made a patient 45 off 109 balls, while Rodgie clubbed an impressive 77 off 73.
The all-rounder's innings included five fours and three sixes.
Tailender David Guthrie lifted the home side's total over 200 after blasting an unbeaten 49 off 35.
Guthrie and Rodgie shared in a 72-run partnership for the eighth wicket.
Norths' bowlers shared the wickets, with Sam Baker (2-15), Nic Bills (2-48) and Guthrie (2-29) leading the way.
The final is at Bankstown Oval on Sunday at 10am.
